Ever wondered if there should be a specific training curriculum for youth players? Well, the answer is yes and here at Legends United we ensure that all of our players have the best possible development opportunities by running training sessions that follow a curriculum. Each week we have topics that match up with what the teams should be learning dependent on their age and stage of development.
Having a curriculum ensures that players are part of a structured learning process that is centered on development which means that they are learning the principles of the game that will help them to become top players! Curriculum based training also means that our coaches are not focussed on correcting mistakes that have happened in the previous game (reactive coaching), but are delivering sessions that will help players to become holistic players (proactive coaching).
Each week our coaches set out game day objectives that are based on the training topic for that week. Being able to meet these objectives on game day is prioritized over any result. This is why you will never see our coaches making any tactical changes during a game in order to try and win a game. At Legends United, we really do prioritize development over winning!
